Made for Global Reactive with Fukushima Poet Taro Aizu and inspired by his poem.

Revive in Fukushima
Fukushima is one of the major producers of peaches and the nashi pear and renown for it’s tree blossoms and beauty. The devastation was heart-breaking for farmers.
Taro Aizu’s poem is printed and folded into prayer offerings on the tree, and we looks out towards a nuclear free future.
The ground in the painting is made up of torn reports of becquerels per kilo of cesium radiation in the soil, 5 years after the disaster.

Reviven en Fukushima
Fukushima es uno de los principales productores de melocotones y la pera nashi, la prefectura era famosa por sus árboles en flor y belleza de los campos. La devastación fue desgarradora para los agricultores. El poema de Taro Aizu está impreso y doblado en ofrendas de oración en el árbol. En el fondo se ve la esperanza de un futuro diferente.
La tierra en el cuadro está hecha de informes de becquerelios por kilo de radiación de cesio en el suelo con fecha 5 años después del desastre.
